This captivating panorama isn’t merely a casual congregation but a snapshot encapsulating the essence of World Learning Youth Programs a platform uniting high school-aged youth from various corners of the globe for immersive leadership and peacebuilding experiences in the United States.

Global Youth Exchanges

World Learning Youth Programs present short-term, immersive endeavors that seamlessly blend elements of traditional summer camps with academic content centered on global issues, civics, peacebuilding, and cross-cultural studies. These programs adhere to a well-defined structure, encompassing orientation, group development, training, homestay experiences, exploration of program themes, and a reflective re-entry phase. With a robust network of over 20 local partner organizations across the U.S., World Learning actively involves more than 1,000 youth participants in 20+ programs each year.

Leadership Opportunities:

World Learning is actively seeking dedicated individuals with a profound passion for youth development and experiential learning to join their team as Youth Program Leaders. These leaders assume a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of participants and delivering captivating workshops. They embody dynamism, flexibility, and unwavering commitment, prepared to tackle the challenges inherent in leading high school exchange programs.

Leader Qualifications:

To be eligible for this challenging yet gratifying position, candidates must demonstrate a proven dedication to youth development, possess relevant educational experience (preferably with high school students), and showcase a commitment to conflict transformation and leadership education. Essential qualifications include robust facilitation and public speaking skills, cross-cultural experience, and humility. Moreover, aspiring leaders must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid U.S. driver’s license, and successfully pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities of Leaders:

Leaders at World Learning juggle various responsibilities, ranging from conducting workshops on arts and leadership to fostering positive relationships among participants. Their roles extend to monitoring participant health and well-being and handling administrative tasks such as maintaining petty cash accounting and coordinating logistics. Leaders play a pivotal role in cultivating a positive and harmonious living environment for program participants.

Application Process:

The application window spans from November to January, with an early bird deadline in December. Successful candidates undergo a thorough selection process, which includes interviews and training. Compensation for leaders encompasses a daily stipend, full room and board, and coverage of program-related travel expenses.
